Split column in Magic

Would like to see ability to split columns within Magic ETL.  Would like ability to choose starting point and number of characters to be included as well as split into multiple columns.  Example would be ABCDEF and make 3 columns of AB; CD; EF.

  • Thank you for submitting this idea @larkincj.  I am assigning this to our product manager @mattchandler for review.

  • Thanks @larkincj—this is a great suggestion. Would you be available for a 10-minute call or quick email to get more information about what you would use this for?

  • @mattchandler I would be available for a call.  Let me know.  Thanks.

  • Splitting a field by character, or even by regex would be ideal. I've only used DOMO for 2 days & already came across this problem with a source I can't alter.

    Example:

Cell Data: "Notice: New user registered"

    Split by ":"

2 new columns (with required column-naming): "Notice" and "New user registered."
