Get DataSet MetaData API should return all dataset meta data

The Get DataSet MetaData API should be able to return all of the meta data.  In paritcular, I would like to be able to see the DataSet Type, Update Method, Schedule, and Source

Can you please give me a sample script to use this API? I am looking for the exact same information to automatically log all the data set information including any beast modes. Thanks in advance.
