If you're using a BeastMode formulat for this, the format would be something like this:
DATE_FORMAT(`Date Field`, '%m/%Y')
Or if you're doing a transform, you can just add this into your select statement like this:
SELECT DATE_FORMAT(`Date Field`, '%m/%Y') AS 'New Date' FROM Table
If you're field is a text field and you need to convert to a date before formatting you can do something like this:
DATE_FORMAT(STR_TO_DATE(`Date Field`,'%m/%d/%Y'), '%m/%Y')
Let me know if you have any questions. Hope this helps.
