Individual column heat map

The heat map applies on all columns currently. Would like the ability to apply heat map on select columns. Currently, the heat map takes the top values in the entire table and colors the entire table accordingly. This does not give a clear indication of the results and leading to false interpretation of data.

Thank you for submitting this @njain. I am assigning to our product manager @Gavatar to review and comment.

  • Hi, any news on this feature. It'd be extremely helpful to us.

  • Could you help explain exactly what you are looking for? The columns that do not have color are drawn in "white"?  They column would look strange if it does not have a data label on it. We want to capture the intent of this request a little better. Thanks for your help.

  • Currently, any column that has a numeric value gets included in the heat map calculation, and each cell colored according to its place in the value range across all columns. This amounts to comparing values that have nothing to do with each other. For example, in the below table, values from the ItemsSold column will get colored vs values from the second column (and vice-versa), which will lead them to be all white. It would make sense to compare values from the ItemsSold column only within that column, and values from the SalesValue column amongst themselves, separately.

Having an option to choose which column to activate the heatmap for would be of great use, too.

  • These features have now been completed in development and after QA will be released to production  (hopefully next month).

Here are the 2 features: Apply to specific columns and treat column ranges independently.

  • Sounds fantastic, thanks much!
