Handling multiple aggregation levels from source data
My company uses syndicated POS data from sources like IRI, NPD, and retailer POS. There are many measures that cannot be aggregated from the item level data, so I need to bring in pre-aggregated data in addition to the non-aggregated data. I was planning to have one column that indicated the aggregation level, but when I thought about how I would be using the different level, I need to be able to use them in drill downs. However, since drill downs take the filters from the previous card in the drill down series, I don't think this will work to filter the aggregation level. If anyone has posted articles or has an best practices for multiple level of aggregation of the same data, please let me know. I could just have different datasets for each aggregation level, but then I don't think they would "interact" the way I want them to.

@jaeW_at_Onyx often recommends appending your data so that you have one larger dataset and allows you to easily perform drill paths. I would encourage you to look at the videos he has posted as there is likely one that covers this:
