Why is my summary number summing up the dataset and not the values on the card?

I have an instance where a dataset has multiple lines for my one unique identifier and this is correct. In order to ensure the information is being displayed correctly, I use a distinct function to only show one of the unique identifiers and remove the duplicates.

I have a summary number that I want to sum the total value of the data (there is a field for price) and instead of summing the lines on the table, it is summing the lines of the dataset which has duplicates.

I confirmed this by exporting the card into excel and summing up the price. The sum of the price in excel was different of that displayed in Domo - Has anyone seen this issue before?
