Filtering on Multiple Date Fields

I have a table with two date fields ...date-1 and date-2. I would like to implement 2 filters in my dashboard such that filter-1 operates on date-1 and filter-2 operates on date-2. Is this is possible?

I'm seeing inconsistent results in my experiments so far. Some cards work exactly as a I want, while other cards built from the some dataset are interacting with the wrong filter. I don't see anyway to control the relationship and not sure what's causing the differences.
