Why are my Dashboard Variable Controls blanking out exported data tables?

I have a dashboard control filter built to allow for independent segmentation. However, when you get down to the export table (with results) and export to excel or csv, the file is blank. If I turn the control filter off, the exported file has data as expected. Anybody run into this or have any ideas?
