I am trying to identify blank values in a field and assign a new value with a CASE statement. Is there a way to take care of this for string values yet? i've tried ='' as well as ISNULL, no results
Have you tried this?
Case When IFNULL(`YourTextField`,0) = 0 Then 'NewValue' Else `YourTextField` End
Hope it helps
Thanks for the suggestion! I thought that would do it when I saw it but unfortunately it still is giving me a syntax error. I double and triple checked spelling and syntax. matches your format.
Could it be the type of field it is in SFDC? I wouldn't think so because it comes into domo as a text value.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep trying
When dealing with STRING values, you could follow the following Beast mode:
CASE WHEN `Text Value` = ' ' then 'Some String' ELSE 'NULL' END
Then just filter out the NULLS from whatever you named the Beast mode. I hope this helps! If not, please reach back out.
WHEN TRIM(`YourField`) = '' OR `YourField` IS NULL
